Diverse terroirs
The estate has changed little since I produced my first vintage in 1992. It was around the village of Montpeyroux that I found the type of vines that I was looking for – old vines, because to make great wines you need old vines. The sap takes longer to rise, and concentrates the aromas.
There are now seventeen hectares of vines. I planted just two and a half hectares, in 2016, both red and white. The parcels are spread around five villages: Montpeyroux, Saint-Saturnin, Jonquières, Lagamas and Saint-André-de-Sangonis, allowing me to profit from the individual characteristics of each different terroir.
It is also a certain protection against the vagaries of the climate, as it is rare for the same phenomenon to occur in all areas at the same time.
Year on year I have progressively increased production, passing from 2,000 to 50,000/60,000 bottles in 25 years.
My work began to gain recognition in 1995, when the Gault Millau guide awarded a mark of 18.5 to one of my wines after a blind tasting.
International markets opened their doors to me, then little by little my reputation grew in France too, where my wines now appear on the very best tables.
